Pcad new frame: System Six, CR-1 or Addict.
Considering a frame upgrade. Current frame: 2007 Cannondale Six13.
The candidates:
• Cannondale System Six
• Scott CR-1
• Scott Addict
Any input appreciated. I'd particularly like to hear from anyone who has ridden/compared the System Six and the Scott. The Scott frames are about 200 grams lighter than the Cannondale, the System Six is probably 100 grams lighter than the Six13. Correct me on those figures if I'm wrong.
Not crazy about the Cdale components on current bikes: those cheesy Cdale brakes, the hollowgram cranks, Sram gears. I may just see what kind of deal I can swing on a frameset alone, sell the Six13 and build up the new bike with my existing components which are really fine (DA 10 spd).

cannondale.
you've had enough experience with them to know that they're top quality, and whatever 'issues' there may be with said quality, will be quickly resolved with their outstanding warranty service.
besides - scotts are really, really, really ugly.
and on top of that: are they still selling frames w/o replaceable derailieur hangers?

This is just the OCP side of me rearing its head. I was just looking @ my Six13 au naturel. It's beautiful. The System Six is ugly. The Scotts are ugly.
When they come out with a new frame that improves performance and gets the 'gotta have it' juices flowing, I'll pounce. But still curious how everyone thinks these three frames compare. If I get hit by a truck (because I don't have a rearview mirror on my helmet and I'm riding with an iPod) I need to know what to get my LBS to order for me.

C-Dale! for all the miles you put in over the course of a year, you will want the C-Dale policy (especially since you have first hand experience on their replacements!... what was it 2-3 frames?).
+1 on Scott's looking ugly.

Since you ride / race a lot, I'd certainly avoid any frame without a replacable hanger. Never been on any of the above frames so I can't provide much more input than that.

Isn't the best reason to get a new bike is the extra thousand miles it tacks on to your riding over the subsequent year, the 5lbs it trims off your waist and the 1 mph it adds to your speed just because you're all psyched up about riding : )?

Does isp stand for incredibly silly pole?
I have Scott ski poles. They're not silly at all.

i've ridden my scott cr1 about 10,000 miles in the last couple years (not much this last year) and have really enjoyed it. supah light, very very stiff when you stomp on the pedals and pretty comfortable. i done about 20+ centuries on this and felt good enough to have a few beers afterwards.
on the other hand, i've never ridden a cannondale so i dunno how that is. my guess is its probably pretty sweet as well.
good luck whatever you end up getting!

Supha light?
Nothing wrong with that. The next step beyond that is 'Stoopid Light'. I think that's the Scott Addict.
But perhaps the System Six is 'See Da Light'. Unforunately to do so you have to ride a bike with a head tupe shaped like a can of Foster's. And that might be a segway into post-ride beer drinking stories. But I stopped drinking in 1996. The only thing I drink after rides is Gatorade or water. When I'm really getting crazy I go with the Diet Sunkist soda.
