Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Flag Source?

I posted on this at Mechanics but it petered out. I'm looking for a source for those warning flags that mount to the side of the bike. I could not inquire from the maker because the code he requires to email him is missing from his site. I was told the Velo site had them but i couldn't find them there.

Are you talking about the orange safety flags that connect at the rear axle? If yes, they are sold everywhere from LBS to WalMart to online retailers.

This place has them for $14 and you can choose your color.

No, he is looking for those that extend to the side... At least if it is the thread I am thinking of.

what about asking the frame builders...

I got clear labels and ran them through my printer to make a sticker for my stem (Kind of a goofy motivation thing..)

<edit: doooh... I thought you meant those warning flags, like don't go over jumps with the front skewer open...>

Can you have GuitarWizard post to this thread, Botto?

I think the vertical flags are best for visibility in intersections. I want a horizontal flag, had way too many near-sideswipes & want a little insurance.
