Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

deal on speedplays.

I just got back from performance, was looking for some new pedals.

They had a closeout on speedplay zero stainless, 130$. I bought some. good stuff. Those who have shopped them know that they rarely if ever go on sale... they also had the x5's for 80$, same closeout deal.

I just noticed that too. I wonder what the deal is. the yellow price tag that they had on the store said that the closeout started on 2/27, and was indefinite. It might have been particular to the store, as in the store was no longer going to carry that model. or maybe there is a speedplay upgrade coming? I can understand why they would no longer want to carry the x5s, because I think they are being phased out by the light action pedals. not really sure what to think. maybe someone else can chime in on the status at their local stores?
