No someone actually said this to me the other day. But the conversation is not ongoing. The question was about what you spent a lot of cash on that was a hobby. I said cycling and when asked to give an example I said the wheels on my bike are 1k.

You know what happened after that.

My friends have been getting into these types of minutiae arguments lately. Ultimately, you'll round it like a normal person, they won't accept it as kosher, and everyone will have to agree to disagree.

It depends on how many syllables you have in the bank.

Some people are very literal. For example, my wife and I live halfway between two towns. When we are on a ride and somebody asks where we rode from, I always give the name of the town furthest away (I'm only adding 3 miles here) and my wife always rudely corrects me like it's important.

Another guy that I ride with is also very literal. We stop somewhere and a person will ask how far we are riding and somebody will say about 50 miles, but Mr. Exacto will say "Nah, we're only going 48 and a half." :D
