The "New" Compact Geometry

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This same frame was in another auction that was posted a short time ago. Pictures were from the other side IIRC.

If it's a steel frame, you'd think all the steelies would snap it up to show us all how easily bent steel can be fixed

This exact frame was a topic in another thread - either here or over at the Serotta forum. Seems the price IF quoted to repair it made it cost prohibitive to buy it for even $50.

Technically, you can buy the frame, straighten it out, then pour molten steel into all the tubes to strengthen it.

Saw that one on Craiglist Pittsburgh not to long ago. One piece of steel that locals wouldn't buy even in the Steel City.

Why would I want that to hang on my wall? The seller must be really hoping!
