Threadless Stem Suggestions Needed

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Threadless Stem Suggestions Needed

I need a 1" threadless steerer tube stem/26 mm clamp handlebar size stem with a lot of angle. I need to get my bars up higher. I tried a Dimension steerer tube adapter but it did not fit quite right. If I can find a cool 1" stem with a lot of angle that would help.

Any suggestions let me know. Thanks.

Just find a 1" to 1 1/8" shim that works. Plenty lying around everywhere, ask your bike shop for one. There are hardly any 1" threadless stems out there; conversely, there are many 1 1/8" threadless stems to choose from (and definitely one with the amount of angle you need).

Yeah, the 1" threadless stem is a rare beast. Luckily, almost every 1 1/8" stem comes with the shim. I use a Ritchey Pro and like it, but I would also look at Thomson. I just think they are cool.

Please suggest stems with a lot of angle so I can effectively raise the bars by an inch or so. That was purpose and need to post. Thanks - help is greatly appreciated.

I have access to about 3.4 million of them. Do you have any used bike shop places in your area? A place like www.bicas.org should be able to do you right.

I guess we would need to know what you have now. Higher than what?

Really, I would just go to a shop if you don't know exactly what you want in angle and length. They will probably let you try a few to see what is most comfortable for you.
