shimano components
Can someone help me w/ shimano components.
I want to know what the order of the best quality components to the worst are. (i.e. sti/ultegra/105/tiagra/sora...not sure what the best and the worst components are) looking to buy me a cycle and just want to know what i'm looking at when reading the specs. Thanks for your help everyone |
DuraAce
Ultegra 105 Tiagra Sora |
STI stands for Shimano Total Integration, a little moniker for their integrated shifting system. See those brake levers with the little shift lever built in? Yep; STI.

Oh yeah..
Sora Tiagra 105 Ultegra Dura-Ace RECORD!!! (Just kidding..) |
Just say shimaNO

I ride Dura Ace but dream of a new SRAM Force build...

Seriously, dough.boy, to answer your question, post #2 from Sora to DuraAce is lesser to best. IMHO. :)
<duckin' and runnin' from the Campy folks> Don't listen to them, dough.boy! <duckin' and runnin' again> |
-DA
-Ultegra -105 -Tiagra -Sora -Then some with numbers I do believe. I did not think there was anything less than Sora but I believe there is. With this said I ride Ultegra and have never regretted it. |

But, I love my Ultegra. What's the classification system for SRAM? :D |

Stick with 105 and above, you'll be happy you did.
