shimano components
 

Can someone help me w/ shimano components.
I want to know what the order of the best quality components to the worst are. (i.e. sti/ultegra/105/tiagra/sora...not sure what the best and the worst components are) looking to buy me a cycle and just want to know what i'm looking at when reading the specs.

STI stands for Shimano Total Integration, a little moniker for their integrated shifting system. See those brake levers with the little shift lever built in? Yep; STI.

Seriously, dough.boy, to answer your question, post #2 from Sora to DuraAce is lesser to best. IMHO. :)

With this said I ride Ultegra and have never regretted it.

Must not have been by Walmart lately ;) :D . There's a lot of other Shimano components that don't fall into the group sepcifications we have outlined, but most of us would prefer not to ride them if given the choice.

That's cause anyone who knows enough to want Campy knows enough to know the system.
But, I love my Ultegra.

Shimano 2200 is a sub-Sora line that is still STI. Cosmetically and functionally it looks an awful lot like Sora. There are certainly parts of lower quality made by Shimano. Shimano coves the range from the TDF to Magna at the local X-Mart.
