Stupidity of The Cypress. (w/pics)

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Stupidity of The Cypress. (w/pics)

I went for an outdoor ride yesterday due to the gorgeous 40 degree ( ) weather. Two thoughts crossed my mind before leaving:

1. Should I bring a tube/pump?
2. Do I need extra food?

The ride started wet. Go 3 miles in any direction from my house and there is minuscule amounts of snow, but at my house we still have about 2 feet. When it melts, it turns our streets into rivers of goo.

Anyways, outside of town the roads were perfect if not for the occasional dump truck load of gravel.

I get WAY the deuce away from home (40+ miles) then I feel something funny. I live at the base of those mountains:

Cypress has a flat. Cypress has no tube/pump.

Cypress gets to do his next favourite thing to riding his bike: Sitting next to a barren field waiting for the woman to come get me.

If you are riding on the same tire that you use on your trainer, bring flat fixing stuff.

See, if it had been me, a car would have come by and smashed the camera to bits. So at least you've got that going for you.

At least its a pretty place to live! You probably have good mix of flat and high elevation. I'm lucky I can get to do a couple thousand feet climbs and flat areas all in a short distance.

It's OK dude, everybody is entitled to a brain fart, even you roadies.

The great thing about pulling a bonehead move is that you usually never repeat the same mistake again. So you get a pass on this one from me, you've paid enough. (Ha, like anyone gives a crap what I think!).
BUT - do it again, and I'm gonna get all Red Foreman on ya!

The camera was a no brainer (especially in the long run). It's the size of a well rolled tube anyways.

You called for a ride? No, no, no...you have to walk home as punishment for your stupidity. That's how these things work. Unless Montana rules are different...
