Cool Pix You've Taken While Cycling (Post Here)

Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

Snapped a few pics on my ride today. I don't get the same outdoor scenery as you folks when I ride here in St. Louis, but I get to ride through some pretty cool historic neighborhoods. (Disregard the poor photography skills - quick snapshots in auto mode with my compact canon).
My bike posing with Lou Brock in front of Busch Stadium

The old courthouse (where the Dred Scott case was tried) and the Arch

A couple of the houses that look out over Forest Park

A park in west St. Louis County

A neighborhood known as Compton Heights

Another historic neighborhood - Lafayette Square

Places like Soulard (where I live) and Lafayette Square have really turned around. Downtown is on the move up too. North city is still another story.

Took my camera out for a short ride today and decided to goof around a little with the camera and with photoshop when I got home. I'm not particularly good at photography or the enhancement yet, but here is are a few.

These first two were in front what was, at one time, the Smile Soda Factory but is now apartments.

This one is from Tower Grove Park

Kind of depends on your definition. I've worked for a few papers, most recently (and perhaps notably) the Daily Iowan. I've also worked in many'a'photo lab. And i've run a small business in which i sold little league action shots to parents. That said, it's never been a main source of income. It has however, paid for my camera equipment. Now my goal is to do the same on a bike .
