Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Am I going crazy?

I want a road bike, I want one now. Can't stop thinking and searching the net, reading articles, forums, etc. for about 2 weeks now. I'm having dreams about bicycles
I even "infected" my friend with a bicycle bug, he just went out and ordered bike online
Why is Saturday so far away? I'm thinking about taking a day off tomorrow just to go the LBS and get over with it...
Am I crazy?

Yeah I'm getting a good feeling about entry level Treks (either Trek 1000/1500 or Pilot 1.2). I also like Giant OCZ 2/3. Was looking at Raleigh Cadent 2.0 but nobody has it in stock Basically I want a comfortable good looking road bikes under $800 with Tiagra or better (9 speed), so I'm mostly hoping for 2006 models on sale... Still haven't totally decided if I want an aggressive or relaxed frame, I hoping to try both in the LBS and see which one I like better.

No, your not crazy. I have dreams all the time about bike-related things. A few weeks ago I had a dream about Steve-o racing in a full aero suit at a velodrom......weird dream. But i know what you mean, I am the same way about fixed gears right now.

I know right! I went in to the LBS with money in hand to finish paying off the bike I had on layaway Monday. They had to put a bar end shifter on and it wasn't finished 'till today. I almost died waiting 4 days for a 10 minute parts job. I love my bike though!

Why not? I got mine the same day I went in, got fitted, then came back about an hour later after they changed my handlebars for wider ones.

No no, I have a very slight handicap in my left hand that disallows me to shift the FD, so the bike shop put a bar end on so I can do all my shifting on the right side. Add that to the time of year (the LBS is SWAMPED with spring tune ups) and I had to wait.
You should get your bike right away!
