Good deal from LBS?
What I was looking for:
I've been searching for a new/used bike for a bit, going to be a city commuter and general transportation. I need something fairly compliant with relaxed geometry as I broke my back several years ago, I want STI shifting and 105 or better components, I'm a 55-56 btw (~31" inseam and 5'11) What I found: '05 Iron Horse Excelsior Race for $999 + 100 in shop bucks, full Ultegra, besides the cranks, aluminum w/ carbon rear stays and fork, lifetime tuneups etc. I've been shopping around quite a bit, mainly looking for a quality steel bike fitting what I want in my size in my price range (don't want to break the 1k mark as it will be a daily ride and very well could get stolen) and I haven't seen a better deal. Nashbar HAD the '06 model, but are out of the 56cm so thats a no go. Does anyone else have any recommendations? There is a Lemond Zurich I've been watching on ebay, but who knows how high that will reach in the next 4 days... |
