Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Gatorade Endurance

I have tried several drinks while riding (well except the beer and wine kind) and seem to like the Gatorade Endurance for long days. Problem is, Its hard to find. I think they make it in powder form but I am guessing I am going to have to buy it online.
Anyone find this stuff at local stores?

I think I saw some at Costco.
Personally I use GU2O. One of the few things I can tolerate during high intensity ride. Almost everything I tried made me want to throw up. That includes HEED.

- not in powder form...

- but i got beaucoup free quarts of the stuff via my Nashbar orders last year (got a get-one-free coupon with each order, and had a buddy who gave me his coupons)...

- it's saltier than the regular gatorade, otherwise the same AFAIC...

It's easy for me to find at most supermarkets, but I've never found the powder. I would say that it does taste different, more than just saltier. It tastes like there's more gatorade mix per liter or something. I like the taste better than regular gatorade, although at the end of a long ride it starts to taste really sweet to me.

Yes, I will say I like the taste of the green stuff, seems refreshing. Some of those drinks are sick.
I have been using the Hydro Boom ras lemon, as it so far has been the most refreshing for me.

Cheap Gatorade Endurance formula:
+

Regular Gatorade and Morton Lite Salt is a very cheap way to add K+Na.

Yep, everything starts getting sweet on those long rides, thats usually when I fill one bottle with water to try and even it out. Nothing like a bag of ice at that point.

Besides 2x the sodium, it has 3x the potassium, and calcium and magnesium too.

I've bought Gatorade Endurance at Safeway. I like it in the summer when I sweat more.

I have to agree, I think thats exactly why I like it, it does not seem as sweet as any of them.

I just got a jug of powdered Powerbar Endurance. Works fast, and tastes good too.

i usually just buy the regular Gatorade, in the 1 gallon containers, at the local Target...
