Time RXS Carbon v Look Keo Carbon

Looking at the carbon version of both the above, which from experience is the easiest to clip in and out of?, which is the quieter pedal?, do looks squeek? info appreciated

Keos do not squeak and are a good quality pedal. Not sure about the Times, I can let you know in a few weeks. I'm switching out my Keos for the RXS to see if the lateral float that they provide will be helpfull for my knees.

i have new time rxs pedals. These were recommended to me by a triathalete who was impressed that she clicked out properly during a crash. Apparently this does not always happen?

they are somewhat stiff to click into caopmpared to my ultegra pedals, and they are quiet. they have a good amount a lateral float, which i like a LOT.

keep in mind that trying to find a replacement cleat for the time pedals could be more of a challenge than the look. I broke a look keo cleat on a Century half way through and no one had them. I now carry an extra with me on long rides.

Read a similar thread posted last month.
I switched from the Keos to the RXS about 6 months ago and like the RXS better for the following reasons:
1) Easier to engage without looking. With the Keos the pedal was sometimes positioned backwards resulting in the foot sliping on the backside of the pedal when reengaging. I still have to miss a reengagement with the Time pedals.
2) The rubber feet of the RXS cleats is very convenient, no need to carry rubber covers in your jersey pockets.
Overall both systems are excellent. My preference to the Time is more a personal matter.

I've been riding a pair of RXEs (the cheap-o, low-end model) for about 1.5 years. Unlike most company's, all the Time RX's are pretty close in weight, and all pretty light. I love 'em. Big platform, plenty of float, easy-in/out, light, very walkable cleats, absolutely quiet... no clicking or creaking, and pedals aren't particularly sensitive to dirt, etc. (i.e. low maintenance). Agree with pretty much everything that's been said above, good and bad. I had one complaint, and nobody has mentioned it, so maybe it only applies to the RXEs. When they were new the bearings were a little snug. Since the pedal is so light, it didn't hang toe-up, so if I didn't clip in first try, I'd have to flip it over first. That went away after about a month.

All pedals squeak, some more than others. I have the Keos and they squeak when the cleat gets really worn. No biggie, a squirt of some chain oil and it's all good. Or during a ride, squirting some water on the cleat temporarily fixes it. I can't live without my Look pedals. I know some people like Times or Speedplays, but I have gotten so used to the Looks that it's easier to clip in those than the Time pedals.
