Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hopw to develop veins on my calves

ok, this is going to sound really vain (yuk yuk) but I want to know how to develop visible veins on my calves. I've got noticebale veins on my my arms and I'm starting to make some progress on my right leg. But I want more, haha. I'm not a troll! I just want aesthetic upgrades to show off to the ladies when I wear shorts! I mean, if you're going to put in a couple of hours a day on a bike there should be some kind of payoff, right??

Did you know that there are a lot of surgeons out there who make good money getting those veins to go away?

Just give me a couple passes with the ol' valvulotome and I'll get those veins plumped up for ya in no time. You know you want to...

Body fat is only part of the equation. Some folks just don't have big superficial leg veins.

Parents that have the gentics to accomplish that and pass them to you. Or...

Calf extensions every other day. 3 sets, 20 reps, as much weight as it takes to go to failure on the 3rd set 20th rep. Start with low weight for a few weeks until you build up so as to not get injured.

If that and low body fat doesn't do it, it ain't gonna happen.

For some reason I feel like I gave this thread more attention than it deserved.

I don't mind the cutting... It's just imagining that mess sans skin.

When you take them out, you just make a couple tiny incisions right over the vein, then hook it with an instrument that looks a lot like a crochet needle, pull, and repeat. It comes out like a big worm. Very gratifying in a strange way...

wow and I thought the orginal post was disturbed dr pete. Chicks dont dig exposed veins, or tooth pick arms, or wicked farmers tan, or guys that will spent 3-5 hours a day(on weekends for most of us) on their bike and not on them. Better off finding something else they might like ie. a personality or charm?
