Branford Bike is coming Back!!!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Branford Bike is Back!!!

Not sure if a thread has mentioned this in another forum or not, but Branford Bike is back. They have the new store open, and are slowly accumulating a new parts inventory. Some of the old stuff they had was irreplacable, but they are going to do their best to be as close to what they had. They had the grand re-opening in February, so they've been open a while now.

WOOHOOO!!!!!!

Nice. I still have a MAZA Prestige TSX frame I bought from them back in the '80's. Fitted it with all Campy Athena and Campy wheels. Truly a work of art. Unfortunately, I need to sell it due to lack of space. Hoping to get $600 for it. But, back to Branford Bike...great shop back in the day.

I stopped by the other day, they are only about 2 minutes from where I live. The website mentions the "retail location," but it does not appear to be open to the public yet.

Ordered a couple of Campy items from them a few weeks ago. Fine service, no issues. Glad to have a Campyphile source again.

They were in CT until they burned down last year I believe. So they've relocated?

They burned down? Got a friend to buy a bike there a few years back; don't think she's ridden it since I moved north...

No, no, no....

Tim moved it out of Branford a few years ago. He went to Montana and lost his home and Branford Bike to a wildfire. He sold the web business and now it's re-opening. Best of luck to Branford Bike!!!

Does anyone know if this is the same folks who ran the Branford, CT iteration of Branford Bike? I know that following the fire they were offering the name, mailing lists, and distributor contacts for sale to anyone who wanted to take over the business, so it may be an entirely new shop working under the Branford Bike name. I'd be curious whether this new shop is, in fact, a place I've had great experiences with in the past, or just a place named for a place I've had great experience with in the past.

Either way, best of luck to them.

Good Heavens.

They were in Montana, and his shop was destroyed by a wildfire.

Yes, Montana, and they did a very good job of repairing my Chorus brifter. I forget that it was ever broken. They had just moved there from Branford CT when I needed it done.

neat store. I was going to buy some SportsCrafter roller accessories (identical to CycleOps) right about when they burned down. Now, I am compelled to buy some stuff there if they're online (at least that's today's rationalization). Is there a link?

botto - I missed this before. You rock my world.

P.S. Branford, CT was not worthy of Branford Bike.
