It depends. The section I rode goes over the highest part of the BRP at 6053'. There was some ice and snow along the side of the road in the shaded parts and some occasional rock fall too. But I think it is more a matter of lack of personel to maintain it open that keeps it closed. I expect it will be open very soon though. Certainly by the end of the month.

The closest beach is near Charleston, SC about 5.5 hours drive away.
