Garmin 305 auto pause issues?

Anyone having any issues with the Garmin 305's auto pause function with the newest firmware? I have strong satellite signal yet it seems to auto pause for a second or two at a time more and more frequently. Never happened with the older firmware.

P.s. Version is 3.10

I used mine for the first time with the new software on Sunday and didn't have any issues but that was also my only use of it. Do you have the CAD sensor? Was it reading properly the whole time?

I found on my Pitt to DC tour last summer when I didn't have the CAD sensor mounted that any time I had the sat signal drop out I would get a pause...any chance you were in an area where the signal was in and out and you didn't have the CAD sensor?

no, I'm not using CAD sensor, only sat signal but this has happened on almost every ride since I've switched software. When looking at the signal strength when it happens my signal is still strong though. I'm tempted just to switch it back to an older version, is that possible?

I've done about 5 rides with 3.10 and haven't had any issues, but I do have a CAD sensor.

Yes it is possible...download it to your computer and run the download and you should be able to load the older software...I had to do that once in the past.

Do you have the latest GPS software? If not I would update that before back reving the Edge software.

Mine has always auto started several times if stopped, if set to "When Stopped". GPS is highly acurate but it's not perfect. If the GPS thinks it's moving just a bit, it will auto start several times when stopped. I set mine to Custom Speed to like 6-8mph, or if I am on a mountain ride with climbing, I set it to 2mph. But it seems you may be talking about auto pausing while actually riding at speeds above the set autopause speed? You can check this in Training => AutoPause/Lap, but I assume you already know this. If that's what you are talking about, mine has never had that problem. I am still using 2.7 though. What's the advantages of upgrading? I have the CAD and HR sensor. I guess I could look it up myself...

I'd upgrade to at least 2.9. I think they fixed the lockup issues on the map screen in 2.8.

no problem on mine. running v3.0

I just upgraded to the latest using WebUpdater, so we'll see how it goes.
