Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

FG build kit group buy.

Ok sorry for the cross post but I know many avoid the SS/FG forum or only check it infrequently. With the IRO group buy I know I, for one, am in need of a build kit. After looking into it a little I decided to contact a couple of places and see if they would support a group buy and I found an interested party. More details to come buy please go vote in my poll in the SS/FG forum so I can gauge the level of interest and feed it back to the retailer so we can get the best price.

Thanks

I voted. Just the basics to get the bike rideable short of wheels (since everybody's going to have their own preference).

Thanks for the update. I'm curious why a seat post would be in the basic build, is it also a Miche?

The Miche kit I was looking at comes with the sweet Miche seatpost.

This isn't the retailer I am talking to but here is the Miche kit: https://www.thebikebiz.com/Miche_Prim...rp-miche01.htm

And here is the Miche post:

Thanks, I remember seeing that post on many fixies, it does look nice.Actually the whole gruppo looks sweet. I could own this gruppo for 20+ years, it looks very clean.

Pedals are included in the kit I linked to above...but that isn't the vendor I am working with and there has been no mention of pedals in my discussions with them.

I am not sure if it is a misprint but he gave me a price on a set of wheels built with DA high flange hubs that is about what I have seen for the hubs alone...so some prices are awesome...but other prices seem a little normal. We will see what the final outcome is.

Web link coming today or tomorrow I believe.
