What do you choose a frame?

When buying a bike how do you choose the frame. Other than material(aluminum, carbont etc) what other factors do you look at?

How it fits you.
Basically like size, just one size in one brand doesn't mean the same size in another, so test the bikes you want.

size, material and quality. quality is very important to me. a frame from bikes direct wouldn't work for example :)

fit
stiffness
weight
pretty much in that order. for me ride quality/compliance is somewhat material dependent, and involves so many factors like wheels, saddles, tires/psi, bars, etc, its almost moot(not moots!!). i'm sure others will disagree.

Which is it?:

1.) What? Do you choose a frame?
2.) What do you choose? A frame?

Good one. I would first consider what kind of use are you going to put the bike? Road, commuting, cross ..... all would impact what frames to start with and then narow down on budget, materials, etc.

Why not? If the frame is the same size, shaped, and same material whats the difference. I'm not arguing, just curious?
