I Want More Rad

Okay, so the weather is warming up....the spring classics are underway....many of us are getting back on the road for another season.

The increased traffic here at BF has been great. I've already enjoyed several race/ride reports and all the general goofiness that I've come to expect from this place during the cycling season.

But there's just not enough Rad any longer.
He's like the original guy I got hooked on when I joined this place a few years back.

Yup,
I've got a fever. And only perscription is more Rad!

-VELOCITY- 03-20-07 11:48 AM

Yeah Rad's given me some great advice and insight since I've been here.

DrPete 03-20-07 11:51 AM

Sounds like the Rad is going through some rough times right now, so I would imagine that accounts for the decreased presence. He had mentioned something about impending divorce in another thread.

Best of luck to you, Rad, and I hope everything works out for the best.

I'm in the same boat, so I know how crappy he probably feels.

I'd like us to sum up this entire thread by saying:
"Rad, we're with you. Life can really suck, but know you've got us at your back if you ever need anything"

and ask that we not go dumpster diving for posts.

Hipcycler 03-20-07 12:17 PM

I honestly had no idea until just now. I had not seen the other posts.

All I know is that I can say publically here that Rad was the guy who answered so many of my questions when I was a noob here. Always level-headed. Always funny.

I once was angered so much by a negative time we went through here on the board that I announced my disgust and that I was leaving for good. It was Rad who talked me into returning with some excellent words of wisdom about the situation.

Ah the battles with 53-11 in the day...those two would go at it...so many memories.....listen Rad, we're thousands of miles apart, but we probably have more in common through this board than we do with some of the people who live on our block.

You've got a lot of friends here, and I hope that you feel that I'm near the top of that list. And in tough times, if you EVER need to vent or bounce anything off me, you know where to find me.

Like I always say....
We all fall down. It's how we get back up that defines us.

It's no fun going through rough times, but for goodness sakes, we need an update on the freakin' Tete de Course saga!!!

....oh no!
You're right CyLowe.
Will their be a custody issue now to cloud matters with the legendary rig further?

Over?

NOTHING is over until I say it's over!

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

...and it ain't over now....

-VELOCITY- 03-20-07 01:24 PM

Wow an Animal House quote. In all seriousness all the best for Rad.

funny hip, but perhaps we should let rad deal with his life, without dredging it back up over the ol' www.

Perhaps.

I'm just on record as being a huge Rad supporter.
'nuff said then.

(Unless someone wants to make a jock joke about my use of the word 'supporter')

55/Rad 03-20-07 02:43 PM

I'm here. Though not at the level I once was and hope to be again in the future.

The rumors are true - I'm having a really hard time dealing with my separation from my wife and what appears to be my impending divorce.

The good news is that I just finished my latest build and will be presenting it in the next few weeks. Bike related things are going a bit slower these days in that I'm drawing things out in order to enjoy them more. I do look forward to actually getting out and riding again.

As for the Tete - well, let's just say that nothing is going on. I've let the pressure on the painter slip and I haven't spoke to him in weeks. I'll get back around to it soon I hope.

Thanks to all of you for your support. This place is absolutely one of the best things I have in my life and I can't imagine it not being a big part of my future.

Take care....

You're a good guy, Rad. The concern is based on that, and on the fact that everyone enjoys your posts and input, so it's been missed. Here's hoping things look up quickly.

CastIron 03-20-07 04:24 PM

The curse of the Blue Star strikes, again.

Damn Rad, that's rough.
