Cervelo's FSA Seat post 32.4mm

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cervelo's FSA Seat post 32.4mm

So, the R3 seat post is 32.4mm.
Looks like one of the only options for a better seat post is the Campy post.
I guess FSA used to make the k Force lite in a 32.4 but no longer does.

campy, deda (blackstick), thompson, itm (uniko).

I have the FSA, if I had to do it over again I'd probably get the thompson.

The Thompson Elite and Masterpiece posts are where it's at. They are not expensive, light, and strong.

I have an R3. What would one gain by switching to a new seatpost? According to Thomson's website, their Elite seatpost is available in 32.4 but it is 20 grams heavier than the stock FSA.

I have no idea, there is nothing wrong with the FSA post. The R3 SL is going to have a 27.2 post.

Get a USE shim, they make them in almost all sizes, including 27.2mm-32.4mm. I'm thinking of that option.

There's nothing wrong with the stock FSA post, it's just that most people buy an R3 because of how light it is and the stock post is rather heavy for someone who is interested in being a weight weenie. If that does not concern you, the stock post will serve you well.

yep. Weight, but more important the adjustment grooves are huge, there are 2 of us on R3's using the stock FSA post and the seat agle is right in between. I know it sounds ridiculous.
