Today's ride w/extras
Went on just my second longer ride since my unfortunate wreck with my new PF RS. No the RS still isn't fixed, awaiting an order from PBK. Anyway today is a beautiful day near 80°F in Union County, NC. Went for a 50 mile ride. Find myself averaging about 1 mph faster than this time last year. Although to be fair, March 23, 2006 I was over 280#, now I weigh 215#. It was an uneventful ride so no real details. Just was experimenting with some new software and a new take along camera.
Took about 30 jpgs during the ride. When I got home I loaded the trip data from my Edge into SportTracks as I usually do. Then from SportTracks I exported the activity as a GPX file. Saved the GPX in todays picture folder, then saved all the images from the SD card to the same folder. Then used RoboGEO to geo-encode all the images with Latitude/Longitude/Elevation data from the GPX file. With this info embedded into the EXIF information when viewed in Google Earth you can actually see a thumbnail of the image at the point where I took the picture. Pretty cool. Saved them to a Picasa album for everyone to see:

You can also stamp the image with a visible banner that shows the GPS info like these examples below:

Looks like a beautiful area to ride in WW. Oh, and congratulations on the weight loss!

Thanks Brandy, it isn't SoCal but it is a pretty part of the country. My daughter and I will be riding all over Eugene, OR sometime this summer, just working out the logistics.

There are some beautiful areas to ride in here, but I appreciate the beauty of other regions. I'm crewing for a RAAM team this year and I'm sure I'll be taking note of the places that I want to come back to ride.
