After you've been riding for a while, you learn to avoid touching the greasy chain.
So if you are getting chain grease on your calf, you are assumed inexperienced or just clueless.

You were scooting the bike with left leg on the right pedal and you lost your balance, falling on top of the bike.

Lack of a chainring tattoo shows you are a true OCP that doesn't stop for pesky things like stop signs and traffic signals

PS: On occasion I am a victim of the chainring tattoo. Personally, I don't know what the big deal is.

My guess is the bike was parked in the hallway of your house. You ran back to fill your waterbottles and scraped the bike with your left calf as you ran back towards the kitchen. That's my final answer, Regis.

You got in a fight with your chainring ... and the chainring won
If I remember right, I think cut myself on the back of my left calf while clumsily walking my bike. Wasn't paying attention, walked the bike right into my calf which jammed between the chainring & seat tube a bit, creating a nice scar like that.

The whole pack shifted left for some odd reason and i was cross wheeling the guy ahead of me.... down i went. Painted the road with various more bits of my skin too, thankfully you keep moving forward while tumbling and skidding so it wasn't to hard to catch back up once i made sure i still had all my particulars in place.
