Ladies, I need your opinion.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ladies, I need your opinion.

Ladies, I need your opinion.

My wife is digging around for a new Jersey. She found one she really likes. I thought I would surprise her with a new pair of shorts to match. The white ones below would match beautifully, but I was wondering if any gals on here have tried a pair of these, and weather or not you are satisfied with their quality and comfort.

Gore Ozon shorts, in white. (Team Estrogen $120)

I don't think I've tried those, though I would stay way from white shorts.

Someone had to ask. It's a tradition around here.

I'd also avoid white shorts, because of people like me. Also, it took about a day for that picture to load. Their server is really slow for me.

White looks pretty but it's tough to wear on the bottom. I don't know how opaque Gore spandex is.

There was a guy riding in white shorts in a race this weekend that I was driving the wheelcar for (I was sick). It was pouring rain. I could see... everything. Very disturbing. Was very glad when he dropped out.

No to white shorts for that reason. When it comes to fashion, I have no idea whatsoever.

Given the color of the bike, there were a few pink / black shorts on the same site:

If those Gore shorts were reversed, with the white along the outer legs and the black in the...strategic places, I think they'd be killer. Another example of, what were they thinking?

^^^^ If you know of a quality pair of womens shorts like that, I'd love to have a link, if you know of any. What I really like about the Gore shorts is how the silver/gray stitching would match the silver stripes on her shoes. A perfect match.

She usually only rides when it's pretty nice out, so I don't think getting them wet or muddy would ever be a concern. She has plenty of black shorts for the bad weather anyway.

I was considering a set of the pink shorts, but her jersey is pink, and there is no specific shorts that match the same pink. So, these pink ones above, would probably not match up as well as one may hope.

She already has a white helmet, and a new pair of Carnac Helium white carbon shoes. She likes pink and/or purple jerseys, and she has made a few hints at liking white shorts. Especially after she saw a Etxe Ondo ad with a white set, but they are a bit too expensive, and I thought the black and white Gore shorts would be a little sharper looking.

there, you have it and Im pretty sure you keep her bike seat spotless clean with your OCP desease, so she should be all set to ride in white

And I'm not just saying this because botto's not around...

Assos FTW.

The wifey LOVES the Assos bibs, and they actually have a bib design that conforms to the lady parts.

Screw the color scheme. If she rides, she'll appreciate the Assos goodness even more.

The Assos size charts looked like they run kind of short for the overall size. Did you find a place around here for her to try the stuff on, or did you just take a chance at ordering?

These are LG and sort of the reverse of the Gore:

I'd like them better if they were just black and silver, but maybe they'll work for her?
