Giordana bibs - fit question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Giordana bibs - fit question

Trying to figure out something here...bought a pair of Giordana Silverline bibs online (great price) but on receiving them found that while the bibs fit well and are very comfortable the leg grippers don't, well, grip. They just sort of are loose around my thighs. Okay, Jan Ulrich I'm not but I've never seen this issue with other shorts or bibs and I'm wondering if the Giordana leg grippers are just larger (size is XL) or if maybe it's just this particular pair. I'm trying to figure out whether to exchange them for another pair of the same bibs or to exchange for a different brand. Anyone have any insight on what the normal fit for these is?

I have had the same experience with the Silverline bibs. Fortunately, while they don't seem to have a vice-like grip on your thighs, they are just enough to keep everything where they should be. In the end, I think that's more comfortable. So I have no quarrel with them...
