Good Fred Day!!!
Whilst on my ride last week it occurred to me that Friday is Good Friday. Which gave me an idea.....
I propose that in addition to Good Friday, that we also designate the day GOOD FRED DAY. This would be a day to put aside any anti-Fred related snobbery. On this special day, you should wave and cheerily greet ANY and ALL fellow cyclists. If you are the fancy bike and coordinated bike outfit sort you may of course celebrate the day by retaining your normal equipment and attire and having a kindly and enthusiastic attitude toward all "freds". If you are a "fred", it is your special day to enjoy being you (even more so than usual). If you have never engaged in any "fred"-like practices- it is a day to celebrate your inner "fred". To ride simply for the joy of riding without regard to trivial matters such as the weight of your bike, the label on your clothing, the expense of your wheelset.
So friends, please join me in celebrating GOOD FRED DAY this friday. And perhaps someday every day will be GOOD FRED DAY!!!!!!
Are you in? How will you celebrate GOOD FRED DAY?

Every day should be GOOD FRED DAY (or good cyclists day) anyway. So let's leave Good Friday alone for those who cherish this day for its spirituality.

I saw that one coming botto
and mukluk, if friday is fred day, do you get a turn into dedicating monday OCP day where you dont try and make your goal of passing cyclists while they are just minding thier own business and you're flapping your wings showing off and coming on bf telling us all that you can drop anyone on your 50 pound bike?
Is that the deal? or only freds get a break?

Today I have embraced my inner Fred.
Should do the following today?
and go for a cruise around the block or to starbucks.
Should do the following today?
- Put the retired Blue CrankBrothers Candy Pedals back on the Red/Black Road Bike
- Break out the Camelback
- Grab the Cutoff Shorts
- Rock the Mountain Shoes
- Can't forget the Knee High Tube Sox, with Orange AND Blue Stripes
- Don the Helmet with a Visor
- And I almost forgot the Yellow Disco Jersey
and go for a cruise around the block or to starbucks.

Ah. I just created a thread asking why roadies seemed so snobby and wondered if it might not be me. Guess not.
Hm.
No Candys but Eggbeaters-- check
Camelback -- check (sometimes... for long rides)
Mountain shoes -- check (they're Sidis, and you can stuff your Nikes)
Helmet with visor -- check
BONUS: Squeaky shark horn -- check, check, CHECK!
So i'm a "fred".
Hey "alpha-roadies"... i've got news for you. Us "freds" s****** at you in your garish, butt-ugly ProTour replica kit. "You paid how much for that ugly stuff??
Peace. Enjoy the ride.
