Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It wasn't critical, I was trying to be light hearted. If you choose to see it as malicious criticism, and lash back at me, questioning my worth of contributions, I can't change that. I'm saying that was not my intent.

You and I have been around the block together as co-posters having fun and good discussions on the forums before. I thought I had the right to joke with you a little, I guess I did not.....

OK... because there is so much malice put forth by the technically disadvantaged, moving forward everybody is going to be graded.
I hate to do this but because class has become so distruptive, I must put my foot down.
Keep in mind to many that have responded this morning, there are other threads on BF to respond to. The posts about color are popular for your peer group.

The grades are as follows:
A: a well intentioned contribution to this thread worthy of a response.
and...
F: trolling, derisive etc based upon a feeling of inadequacy.

Is that too much to ask?
George

Then it is I who am wrong and please accept my apology. You are a gracious man and your Borg pic was hilarious if not deserved.

I'm currently building a bike wheel out of fishing line, because it was lighter than a piece of carbon I weighed.

My only dilemma now is whether to use 150lb test Microfilament line, or go with the more aero Stren.

Is weight or aero more important in a fishing line when used for wheel building?

I suggest using spider webs.

Funny how that is.

Any sign of the OP? I was wondering if he tried to build a bike out of plastic piping.

Just a little humor. Somebody just had their panties in too much of a bunch.

Good idea, attempts at humor can help when you have nothing.

Speaking of which any luck with your low speed bike handling skills yet ?

Carbon fiber is just a distraction that the bike co's have created to prevent us from building bikes out of PVC pipe.

Unmask him Scooby.

Hardware store here I come.

Nope, none at all since I never actually move at low speeds. I, like everyone else at BF, ride 30 mph straight up mountains.
