Current Value of 2003 Cdale R600

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Current Value of 2003 Cdale R600

I'm looking at a slightly used 03 Cdale R600/CAAD5 as a back-up bike; I haven't seen the bike yet, but sounds like very good condition with less than 1000 miles, and original components:

Slice Ultra Si carbon fork
Gipiemme Techno 4.24 rims/hubs/spokes
Cannondale PX2, 39/53 crankset
Shimano Tiagra FD/cassette
Shimano 105 RD/brifters/BB/chain
Cinelli Altera handlebars
Continental Ultra 3000 tires
Fi'zi:k Pavé saddle
Cannondale 3-D forged 26.0 stem
Ritchey Si headset
Kalloy SP-263B seatpost
Cannondale Theta brakes

What should I expect to pay for this?
Any idea what this set-up weighs?
Anything I should consider if I decide to upgrade crankset/stem/seatpost/brakes?

Thanks,
Mark

So that's what an R600 had before it was infamously dura-aced

... but uh, $960 will probably net you a full 2006 105 equipped bike from Performance with change to spare. I wouldn't be inclined to spend nearly that amount on a 4 year old bike with original tiagra/105 mixed components. $400 max probably.

There are few other R600 listed that sold recently. A 2004 CAAD5was listed at 650 with no bids another sold for 710.00 but it just says R600 not that is CAAD5 or not. Not sure if they all are or not. That one at 900+ looks like a rarity plus it has aero bars and other goodies. Here is the description on the 900+ one

Road and Triathlon ready 2004, 54cm Cannondale R600 with Look Pedals, Profile Design Aerobars and Giro Eclipse (size small) helmet. 700cc Easton Vista Wheelset and Continental tires are brand new, never ridden. Used as a road and triathlon bike. I just changed to a straight tri bike. I took the wheelset off of the new bike and put them on this well-maintained R600. Rear derailer is Shimano Ultegra and front is Shimano Tiagra. Index shifters are Shimano 105's.
Bike is beautiful but does have a few nicks that can be expected from normal riding. I've included a picture of a scratch on the left shifter and there is a mark on the chainstay. Other than these minor scratches, the bike is in fantastic shape, rides perfectly and has many races left in it. I'm 5' 9" and the bike has a standover height (top tube to ground) of 31".

~$400 is what I would spend, assuming size is good.

That's what I was thinking too. It was listed at $650 and that seemed high to me, but wanted to get some opinions here.

I picked up a 2004 R600 with 105 flight deck and ultegra RD for $600 last August. The guy was asking $800 originally. I would say $400-$500 is fair.

$600 sounds fair to me, especially if in really good condition.

you could always try www.ebay.ca

It works here... the .com version is blocked, but the other foreign ones are free and clear.
