How are the east coasters holding up??

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How are the east coasters holding up??

Doesn't sound very nice out there today. I heard something like a foot of snow in places and hurricane forced winds. Here in Southern Ontario we're just getting some wicked winds and scattered showers, nothing to really complain about. Looks like things are going to improve here tomorrow and as the week goes on. It actually sounds like spring might arrive by mid to late week. So I'm guessing you guys and gals should be seeing the same shortly.

So, keep your heads held high and don't despair you'll be out there soon enough.

The wind really sucked this morning, but rain had mostly let up by 10. Just in time for the Marathon to start!

I tried that and got hit with some blowing debris from a construction site. I think its more like "keep your head down and don't despair..."

I feel bad for the people who were running the Boston Marathon today. I heard areas were flooded at the finish. On Saturday, I read the Sea Otter Classic was a rain-soaked mess too.

It's been windy, but overall, the weather's been pretty nice since Sunday.

We're still getting wind gusts up to 60 mph here in Alexandria, VA! On the trainer again tonight!

Riding the bus to work this morning, traffic was all stopped up because a bunch of porta potties were being blown around the street. Upright. Try to imagine that. Then, the whole party got broken up when the Plus-Sized handicap portajohn came blowing across the street.

Don't ask. All the roads are closed. Every stream, river and pond in NY is past flood stage.

Debating on riding home. 20-30 mph winds at my back (some of the way).

There's just a lot of crap flying around: limbs, lawn furniture, garbage, garbage cans.

Not awful here in the city, but Sunday was crap. We've just gotten loads of rain, wind has died down... apparently the southern part of the storm was much worse, and jersey is above flood stage.

Seems like every spring, for the last few years, the east coast just gets dumped on and floods big time. As much as I complain about the crap weather we have here, we get off pretty easy. North and south of sue get major snowfall, but we tend to get missed by most of it. The only real pain we deal with is the cold and you can ride through that if you are properly dressed.

Crappy day. Had to leave work early, because I heard on the radio that big chunks of my town were being evacuated. Came home, no sign of any cops forcing people to leave, so keeping my fingers crossed.

poo. It's getting worse. It was a mixture of hail and rain as I was comming back today plus I had the strong wind at my back so I sailed all the way home at an average of about 45k/h or so which was fun but very wet. I found a great new benifit for my helmet today though, deflecting hail.
