Road Buzz from Brifters

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road Buzz from Brifters

I've learned to live with this for years, but now that I am on BF, I might find a solution

Road vibrations are transmitted to the brifters, causing a buzzing noise from the levers (when my fingers aren't there to dampen the vibe's).

Are there any solutions for this??

+1, tightening up newly installed brake cables after the initial stretch and everyonce in a while thereafter helped eliminate this for me for the most part.

Are they ultegra from a few years ago? Do a google search for it. Most epoxy the cap and it kills the sound.

i had ultegra 9 speed stuff from a couple years ago, and the brifter rattle drove me CRAZY. it was just the weak spring and the heavy lever mechanism. i'm in the process of turning that bike over to campy.

I used to have a problem with the buzzing with my ultegra 10 shifters.

My solution? I got some Campy shifters and the buzzing is gone.

Anyway, on a serious note, I dont really think there is much you can do but live with it.
