How big is your "Roadie" list getting?
I never thought about it until I recently added the Sierra Trading Post to my browsers' list of Favorites for shopping online for road cycling gear. After getting back into road cycling a few years ago, my list has slowly been growing. The Road Cycling folder in my favorites list now has something like 60 differant links to online sellers specifically for cycling, and about a dozen others that sell cycling and other outdoor gear, like REI, etc. The list is so long it extends way down past the bottom of the page. I'm thinking I may need to create another folder and start categorizing some of these links.

I have a nested tree of links at home. Rides, clubs, maps, tech articles, 2-3 folders for OBSs...probably 100-200 links. Half are probably broken now...

Somehow I never manage to save my favorites when I reformat my computer, so my list gets trimmed every 6 to 12 months. It is refreshing, but extremely annoying when I can't find "that one web page with the thing on it by that guy."

anyway, mine is just big enough now that I had to add folders for Manufacturer sites, parts sites and motionbased routes.

You do have rights as a consumer, namely you can chose what computer hardware and software to buy.
Sorry to digress on the fact you can't operate a personal computer.
May I suggest using a hosted bookmarking service like https://del.icio.us or one of the many others. Not only will your bookmarks be durable against local data loss, but you can access them from any browser on the internet.

I do organized rides on ocassion. Done a few centuries now, including STP once. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do it again. Mainly I just ride on my own, and with the wife when we can get time together without needing a babysitter. We usually take turns riding though. I also ride alot on the weekends. It gives me time on my own to purge the noodle of all the garbage from the last week.
During the week, I commute quite a bit, especially now that summer is on the way. Road to work today. The sun is out, in the low 50's, and a little breezy. Good for riding. I like to lift weights a bit also, but commuting helps me keep my cardio and mileage up without having to eat into the middle of the day, thus destroying family time with the kids.

Here is a sign of the insanity of my "Stuff List".
I ordered some new wheels on Monday and they came in today, I thought I'd have enough money to buy them, so I go to my bank, ask for all of my money in the account, and she reminds me that I need $25 in to keep the account open, so I take what I can and still keep the accound open. I go to the shop and ask if I can pay the difference in change! So we're counting change for 5 minutes trying to get enough. In the end, I had to get the old "One day, one item only sale". I now have a dollar and a few pennies to my name in real money. I still need to get a new brifter.
I'm officially poor.

No, I don't know everything there is to know about computers, yes, I screw up my own computer. I'm just saying reformatting is not that big of a deal if you back up properly, so why not clean house every year or so?
Just FYI, I built my own computer. Also, I haven't reformatted in a year or two, since the spyware epidemic has cooled off considerably. Also, I like my computer very squeaky clean. If it's bogged down, and I can't track down and/or fix the problem, I reformat. So yes, it would be analagous to repainting my frame when it gets chipped, except that a reformat and reinstall of windows only takes me about 4 or 5 hours. Not a big deal.

My Links page on my website has about half the cycling-related links I've got in my Favorites:
https://www.machka.net/links.htm
One day, when I've got a bit more time on my hands and feel motivated, I plan to add even more links from my Favorites onto my Links page.

Maybe things are better with XP SP2 and the wealth of anti-spyware programs out there but I wouldn't think of it as an unreasonable practice.

I've got about 20 in my favorites. About half are one line stores and the other half are links to local clubs and sites containing information about organized charity rides throughout Southern California.

Oh yes, the list is huge! I use Remember The Milk as my to-do list including a list of all the bicycling related purchases and to-do's.
On the side-topic of this post ... I have been in the IT industry and have been building computers since the days of Windows 95. Sure, rebuilding your computer every year is a wonderful idea for those who have the time, patience, and wherewithall to handle the task. Keeps things nice, clean, smooth, and squeaky clean. I rebuild mine every 2 to 3 yrs myself even though I keep it highly squeaky clean on a daily basis. The registry is an amazing thing ... and amazing things can get all gooked (tech term haha) up.

Not sure how many links are on this thing but I broke the list into sub-groups for shopping, bike shops, rides, rides, manufacturer's, publications, and clubs. It could still use more sorting.
