difference between 23 & 23C tires?

Hi,

What's the difference between 700x23 and 700x23C tires? Both seem to have the same dimensions, but the non-C version costs more (Continental GatorSkin at Nashbar)?

Thanks,

David

There shouldn't be any. The "C" is the measurement of the width. There are two gatorskin types. folding and hardcase.

Now I'm really confused, I thought 23 was the measure of width. How many mm is a 'C'?

The "C" refers to the rim diameter. Almost any 700 tire you see out there will be 700 "C". The 2 tires are the same size, but may have different prices because one is folding (kevlar bead) and the other is wire bead. Wire is cheaper, but heavier.

There is NO difference at all. They are both 700x23c its just laziness that causes the "c" to get dropped sometimes.
