Sharing some pics of my coastal training route.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sharing some pics of my coastal training route.

I woke up my head filled with stress related to work, put on my cycling clothes shot a pic of my early Monday grumpiness and headed for the coast.( yes, bed head and grumpy )

It was a beautiful 78 degree day. This is up a small hill, my favorite spot, I also run this route and always make a point of stopping right there just to enjoy, I truly feel lucky to live here.

Another quick stop to watch the geese, from far off, those things are wild! Ive seen them take a go at me if I ride or run too close to them!

Enjoying the beach for a minute it was truly a great 32 mile ride and most of all, I cant even remember what I was so stressed about

well, when I avarage 24.5 for 15 miles ( before I turned around )I know there is something wrong with that picture ( sorry, I'm no ryan )
It was indeed very windy on the way back but I didnt mind it at all, by that point I was so hot the wind was enjoyable and I felt like I was actually working!

Nice ride report, BDG! I love water, and though one of my rides borders a lake, the scenery is nothing like that! Thanks for sharing!

Outstanding!! Looks like spring has finally arrived back east! What a great way to deal with the stress. I gotta take some shots next time I do my "anti-stress" ride up the coast of SoCal. Thanks for posting these!

oups!
Im in NH , these shots were taken in Rye.
That is definitly the most peaceful training route but it becomes tricky in the summer, this is a tourists area so I get up pretty early to ride there in the summer but quite worth it!

78 degrees is the perfect temperature to ride - not too hot and not too cold. Nice to hear that your side of the country is finally experiencing some good riding weather. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Please tell the photographer that he has a very photogenic finger.

Rode up through there last summer on the way up to Maine - almost got killed by tourists in Hampton beach. Scenic though.

I ride alone and photograph alone!!!but later I was lucky enough to meet an older ladie who felt the urge to tell me all about her operation, bad breathing/hip/ varicose veine and mean hubby, and Id figure since I was kind enough for listening, I asked her if she could snap a pic of me looking a little happier

Nice shots. Yes, there's something about being near the water. These are still a couple of my favorite shots. I see this every day...
