Baltimore
My friend's daughter just moved to Baltimore and is looking for a small road bike for fun riding. Any good shops in the Baltimore/D.C. area that can help her? Anyone have a small roadie for sale in the area? She doesn't have a lot of money.

I'd recommend Mt. Airy Bicycles. It's a bit of a trek from Baltimore (30-40 minutes I'd guesstimate), but it's a big shop with a good selection, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and being located in a somewhat rural area, offers a great location for low-traffic test rides (and, in my experience, the folks there are very accomodating in terms of longer test rides).
The only downside is that they tend to get very busy on the weekends.

Thanks, Mike. I'll tell her about them, too.

Maybe I can get her to get on Bike Forums, then she can ask you guys herself if she has any questions. I think she is a total newbie to the road scene. Her dad is in L.A. and he hasn't been around cycling for a few years, I keep trying to get him back on his bike, though. Thanks again for helping.
