Accent on Aesthetics: Forks
I think most road bike forks are ugly! Their either blobby and formless or just plain ugly. There are, however, a few forks that I think look awesome. Two that come to mind immediately are the Wound-Up and the Look HSC 5+. What other forks do you think look good? (5th grade writing style intentional)

I think it's a *really* fine line between blobby/formless/just plain anonymous and the two "awesome" (sic) forks you cited. In most cases a fork is a fork is a fork...it's one of the last places where I think aesthetics are made or broke(n).
Exceptions might be some really sweet lugged steel forks (Sachs, Vanilla, Llewellyn, Kirk, Mooney, etc.) on the plus side...and the Pinarella Onda on the minus. Yeesh, what a hideous looking fork that is! |
It has to look like it fits with the rest of the bike.

The Look fork is like any other carbon fork with flashy decals.

What's with the Pinerello design, BTW? Does that increase vertical compliance for vibration reduction?

Even the fine marketing folks at Pinarello haven't determined when to use breaking and when to use braking in their product descriptions. That grammar mistake drives me crazy.

sorry Dr.Pete, but i find that fork to be the weak point in Pinarello's aesthetic. too Dali-esque (?).
