Some of us were expeciting him in the Vuelta......:irritated

gohan48 08-20-01 01:09 PM

I didnt know that Idaho was in Spain!? :)

Joe Pozer 08-20-01 06:11 PM

I guess I'll be checking the race in a couple of weeks.
I'm surprised that Lance is racing here though. I thought he was supposed to support Heras in the Vuelta.

gohan48 08-20-01 08:50 PM

Tell your friends. I heard that he spoke to a HUGE crowd of 150 people in NY. I would like to see more professional cycling live more often so please show up.

UncaStuart 08-20-01 10:04 PM

Heck, I'll be there. I've already downloaded the route map and am strategizing on photo op positions.

gohan48 08-20-01 10:32 PM

Good to hear Stuart. Hey bring any friend whose even heard of the Tour de France or Lance Armstrong. Professional racing is really fun to watch. The last one I saw was the 1988 Coors Classic with Andy Hampsten and his 7-11 team.

Its different than the local cat 1 races. There is much more action if you know what you are looking for.

Walter 08-25-01 06:42 AM

So he is riding in S.F. That's good for US cycling in general but I hope it doesn't cause problems on his team. I too had heard that he'd support Heras' attempt to repeat at the Vuelta. Sort of quid pro quo for Heras joining US Postal.

technogirl 08-25-01 04:32 PM

Yeah, that would be interesting turn of events if he didn't go see him. I always thought he was a man of honor, but maybe the circumstances weren't right, or for whatever reason. Team mates are quite important, ya know. :D

gohan48 08-25-01 10:03 PM

Boy, I guess I m the wierd one. I thought that Lance racing in SF was exciting not something to be questioned. I do understand the principal of you scratch my back and I scratch yours in cycling but hell we get to see Lance in America!

:D

jim-bob 09-29-05 10:42 AM

Digging up ancient posts is the new trolling.
