Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Would anyone who has used this product care to comment on it? Would I be better off to shell out the cash for a professional fitting?

First try some online resources. Such as https://www.competitivecyclist.com/ and https://www.competitivecyclist.com/ . I am new to the world of road biking, but after a couple of trips to bike shops and the online measurements I feel pretty dialed in for my required size.
