I hit a pothole. :(

I hit a pothole and rear tire blow out but the rim is ok.
And, my seat post was turn 5 degree right side and I thought I need to re tight up a clamp. However, it wasn't teh clamp. it was seatpost where carbon meet metal part. It is very little turning right and left side. Can I fix it or need to buy a new one? If I can fix, how I can repair the joint? thank you guys. |
Same thing happened to me last year. I warranteed the crappy Cannondale post and while I was waiting for it to came back, I got a Ritchey WCS post and haven't looked back.
Do yourself a favour and get a good one-piece aluminum post (Thomson, Ritchey, etc). It's not THAT much heavier than carbon, and I've noticed no difference in ride quality between the two posts I've had. |
If warranty won't work you could glue it with JB Weld. Framebuilders commonly use it to glue carbon stays to the frame so I can't think of any reason you can't use it too.
