Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How's this modern ski-town look to you? You'll be seeing plenty of it on July 25th (it's where stage 16 finishes)

Thanks for taking the time to put together a truly great post. Given some of the drivel we've seen recently, this is a refreshing and welcome change. Beautiful pictures!

Please, please. I'd prefer it if you kept to the party line of "another worthless post by botto".

I'm sure there will be several reports to the mods, seeing as there was a photo of raw meat, and a wall drawing of a woman caressing a man without a shirt, not to mention a glass of wine.

Is this the Ski Town a little over half up the Col d'Aubisque?

I remember going through there two years when I climbed this - it is was 120 F that day in Laruns before the climb - extremely hot! The climb is fantastic though, especially once you get up above the town and can see down the valley below from the top!

Thanks for the pictures - they bring back great memories

I remember going through there on L'Etape with spectators lining the road clapping. Unfortuantely it felt mostly like pity.
