Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nah, i think i'm more lucky then she is.

I enjoy watching the way my body changes. I'll be ahead of Ryanf in no time, which i think should put me at the front of the pro peloton.

-Just a quick 10 mile ride today, min elevation of 650 with a max of 925. 10.13 miles...nothing major, 18.7mph (much work to be done...)
3 weeks ago i did the same ride at 16.87mph

2 years ago i did the same distance with 50 feet of elevation change (no joke...) at 16.6mph
A year ago i had the same numbers

The cool thing, is that within 3 weeks of riding i seem to be just about where i left off at the begining of the cold season last year, my endurance is down slightly but i've already put in a 30 mile ride this season, it took me 3 months last year before i rode my longest which was a pathetic 40miles. I anticipate large gains this summer, yes...large gains.

Timmy, I want to see you *CRUSH* ryanf and his hammers like a rock crushes scissors.

Listen to bdcheung, waterrockets and others and do intervals. Ride at 15.85 mph and then rocket up to 23.12 for a while. then coast down and relax a little at 15.85, then repeat again and again and again.

You will certainly soon see ryanf trampled underfoot and hear the lamentations of ashley as a testament to your dedication, persistence and love for ruthless domination.

How do you have any clue where Ryan is at now in terms of performance? You may be ahead of him now and just chasing a shadow that's already behind you.

After promising lunch with my GF, but making a quick stop at LBS, she was messing with me using lines from 40 Year Old Virgin, so I fired back...

GF: You know how I know you are gay? On the way to come have lunch with me, you stopped to pick up some cycling shorts.
Me: Yea well I hope you have a large trunk... cause I'm about to put my bike in it.

I love that movie
