LL Bean Cannondale?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

LL Bean Cannondale?

I just picked up a 58cm Cannondale marked LL Bean...
It is marked cannondale on the shifter cable guides under the bottom bracket...
sugino cranks, suntour/dia compe....rigida wheels....

i assume cannondale made these for LL Bean for some kind of catalog special, but i cant imagine that they are not a common frame....
anyone know anything about this bike?
year, model etc would be appreciated...

thanks!!!

I can post pics if it would help....

80's. I remember working at a bike shop and coming home and seeing it in the catalog. REI does the same thing with some other bike manufacturer. 80's was a good time in biking, lots of people buying bikes in the 80's.
I think LL Bean sells "LL Bean Subaru Outback as well"

That's a great looking bike.

I have no real input here...enjoy it!

Hi.
yeah, 80's from the looks of it. Find out the size of the rear hub. During part of the 80's Cannondale
used a very hard to find hub. I think it was 122mm, but don't quote me on it. I had one of them, and replacing the rear wheel was a nightmare because nobody has that size any more..

I also suggest getting the largest tire you can fins that will fit. One good choice
would be the Vredstein Fortezza 25c.

Yeah, looks exactly like my friend's 80's cannondale. That aluminum fork beat the crap out of him.
