5-17 ride report
Today is a cold and rainy day in Pittsburgh, PA and i seen on the weather channel an hour of just cloudy skies...perfect for a 14 mile bike ride...so, i put the cool weather gear on (58 degrees) and head on out. I didn't really have a planned route in mind, but i knew of the general direction i was heading. So i am towards the end of the ride and there is a hill i never climbed before coming up on my left..i know this hill like the back of my hand because i drive up it all the time and even my car yells at me when we go up it! Well, instead of doing the usually ending hill of 1 mile long, 6-8% avg grade, i made the left and went up the hill...It was by far one of the worst hills i've ever did!!! Anyways, i made it home with some more climbing and no rain! Here is a map and elevation profile from my edge.

I showed up for a local club ride. My first time with this group. I quickly got my a** handed to me and left behind. I kept digging and finished the ride of 25.5 miles in 1:30, 17 mph average for me. This was the fastest I've ever riden this route before so I was pleased with that part of the result. I'll have to work more to be able to hang on better in the beginning.
