Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

LEW Racing...Cool stuff...cool guy.

I've been seeing the ad on the fringe of the forum pages for LEW Racing now for quite some time and I thought I'd take a moment to talk about this guy for moment. It's all good though...he is a neat guy and he has some really good ideas. It's been years since the first time I met him, and only spoke with him on a sparse number of occasions. But at the time, I was fortunate enough to be working for a very well known framebuilder who also happens to have a vast knowledge in physics and "gadgetry". Lew (which is actually his last name, much like Steve HED did) started sharing some of his ideas for the future of bike technology, some of which are really cool, and completely viable, lending to some advances in material and manufacturing technologies. Now, in the light of the fact that I would never knowingly violate nor sabotage someone else's intellectual proprietary needs and rights, I will not share any technical aspects of anything I saw or heard about, unless I had his expressed permission. Which I won't be asking for. But I can say that his ideas and products seem to be extremely well thought out and researched. Definitely be on the lookout for some cool stuff from this guy! Unfortunately, I'm sure the UCI will figure out a way to ban his accomplishments! lol. I'm curious...anyone here use his stuff?

I still have a pair of Paul's first generation of carbon/graphite wheels. Way ahead of there time. Lews rims were industrial and cool looking before it was made fashionable by lightweight and co. Great stuff.

220 carbon clincher rims. Yep, my friend (who races) is going to order a pair and build them on a powertap.
