Nike Shoe Question

Just opened the Altea plus box and there is a delta shaped template. One side has a rough, fine sandpaper surface the other is smooth. I'm assuming the rough side points to the shoe sole?
Would like to do it right the first time.

Yes rough side toward the shoe.
