Ride the Rockies roll call

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ride the Rockies roll call

The Ride the Rockies tour is in less than three weeks and based on their website it sounds like folks are coming from all over the country. So I was just curious to see if any BF members are doing it and where they're coming from.

as a bump and to respond...

my understanding is that RTR intentionally skews toward the out-of-state-er. probably just rumor and speculation. anyway, independence pass will be awesome. These guys being there as the end of the day is a MAJOR perk too:

I hear ya. New Belgium is tasty. Independence pass sounds like it'll be fun. The Steamboat area should be nice too - it's beautiful up there.

Great. I'm originally from the DC area (Beltsville and Mt Airy, MD). It should be fun - just hope the weather's nice - it's been a cool and wet spring for us so far.

True, but we don't have ocean views like in Nova Scotia. That's a place I'd love to bike as well.

And I just crashed. Still going, just probably a little slower and more painful than initially planned. Look for a matte carbon/celeste Bianchi, moving slowing on your right...

I'm riding again this year. Great fun on last year's ride. Bike is almost completed. Black Fetish with chrome flames on the top tube.

Triple/10spd..... bring on Independence Pass !

Just got the Helmet cam mounted onto the Headset Tube. Looking to get some 70mph video on the descent down Rabbit Ears Pass into Steamboat Springs. YouTube here we come!

See ya there !
Don
