Favorite cyclist quotes from pros and amateurs

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Favorite cyclist quotes from pros and amateurs

So I've come to the conclusion that cyclist are heard saying the coolest, most arrogantly funny things ever. And the best part is when their statements come true (....or when they don't). So hit me with your favorite cyclist quotes. I'll start us off with one I love.

Alexander Vinokourov "The race today will be difficult. I will attack."

A few weeks ago at the Chippewa Creek Classic when I was desperately trying to make up time, and I blew past a guy from another team that I knew and about three other guys doing 25mph, and I casually said "What it do, baby?"

Or when I was singing "Tiny Dancer" in audible tone in the same race.

I think I heard Jan Ullrich say once that "I am so powerful I don't spin my tires, I make the earth rotate around me" ... oh wait, or maybe I just made that up. Either way, its true, ask NASA.

If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

When indexed shifting first came into existence, someone asked one of Gerg LeMond's crew if Greg was going to the new system. He allegedly replied, "As with most of the pro's, Greg already knows how to shift."
