Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Buyin a used bike

Ok i'm buying a road bike on ebay and here are my options:
2003 trek 1000
2006 Masi Alare
2006 Motobecane Mirage pro
2004 Jamis Satellite
Leaning toward the trek.... All are similarly priced for now...the Masi and Motobecan will probably go up out of my price range but who knows? Any comments/ recomendations? Thanks.

If the frame does not fit you might as well pile up the money and light it on fire. Have you tried the bikes at a LBS to know what size to buy? I like Masi, think they offer alot of vaule for the $ if I had to choose.

I agree. Buy the bike that fits you the best. Don't buy mail order unless you really know what you are doing. A test ride can really help tell you if the bike will fit.
