What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What sort of seat post is that on the Felt? Looks a bit odd from that angle. @FeltF2Tarmac

It is a 3T Stylus 25. Odd looking yes but I like it. Bike came with a 3T cockpit and this post I originally did not care for but it works as a seat post sure but I think it may dampen some road vibration, probably not but a placebo is not a bad thing on chipseal.

Here's my 2015 Fairdale Goodship. Built her up at the end of August after months of research, parts buying, saving, etc... I went with 105 because I felt the money saved from not jumping to Ultegra could be better spent elsewhere. The difference, at least to me, is not worth $300. I went with Thomson bits for the stem, seatpost (an old one I bought around eight years ago for an old mountain bike and the thing looks as new as the day I bought it), collar, and handlebars. The wheels are H Plus Son Archetypes laced to 105 hubs (which I plan on upgrading and keeping these as rainy day wheels). My trusty old Brooks B17, some old Shimano M520 pedals, and some Cadence bar tape round out the rest of it.

I picked up this 2008 Look 585 a week or two ago. It has DA 10 speed components. It is in perfect condition. It will be next Spring when the snow is gone before I take it on it's maiden voyage. As you can see from my profile all my other road bikes are vintage steel. This is my first carbon bike. It will be 5 months before I can feel the difference in the ride. Sorry for the crappy picture.

Finally completed this 2008 Bianchi 928, which stemmed from a notion of owning "classic" (i.e. older) carbon frameset. Tried to keep it's look correct for the period, so I left the fork bare (even though i painted the top tube). As it turned out, I much prefer it's ride and SRAM components to my 2013 Giant TCR SL4, so now that bike is for sale. BTW, this was first ride so bars are now adjusted and red bits have been removed from shift levers.

Not a very good picture of the bike itself, but you can see how out of round the wheels are! My ugly black and green Synapse and my friend's tiny Bianchi at the foot of Mt. Hamilton. (We went straight and rode to Alum Rock Park because we're old and lazy!)

It's my first real road bike since the late '80s. I discovered first motorcycles then mtb in the '90s and dropped road bikes in a hurry.

Trusty road bike commuter. I did a long overdue deep cleaning by fully disassembling the entire drivetrain and cleaning everything, before installing the new KMC chain. This is the bike's 3rd chain. Previous one was used over 6K miles.

This is my 1977 Raleigh Record just after I fixed it up in 2011. It's a little worse for wear after increased use over the last 4 years.

I have another thread started in Road Cycling looking for feedback on the Raleigh Cadent 2, if anyone is familiar with them.

(BTW re: my forum id raleigh78....I joined using that name, thinking the bike was current year when I bought it in 1978, and later discovered that it was made in 1977.)

10 plus year old gunnar roadie. Just got back from a repaint. Threw on an ultegra 6800 groupset from pbk.

I use it for long rides mostly, training for MTB races.

Nice ride, although the silver seat post sort of sticks out from everything else.

I rebuilt my 2005 Giant OCR 1 last winter to make it more urban friendly, something fun and simple I can speed around on to stay fit (especially now that I'm on a mountain biking hiatus). The new 1x10 setup is perfect for the roads and paths here in Atlanta, and I don't think I'll ever use bullhorn handlebars again without the Dia Compe 139 levers, it's so fun to ride!

Before:

After: (have since replaced the stem with something shorter, got a better seat too)

My next project is to restore a vintage Sutton 10-speed I just picked up for my wife: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...-10-speed.html

I just recently joined the forum to gain some knowledge about the Sutton before embarking on the restoration, seems like a good group of people y'all have here, looking forward to sticking around.

Cheers!

What type of brake levers did you use on those bullhorn bars?

1x10, don't you need some type of chain guide or something to ensure that the chain doesn't hop off the chain ring in the upper or lower gears?

The levers are Dia Compe DC 139's. The chainring is a 44t Drop-Stop made by Wolf Tooth Components, works flawlessly, haven't dropped a chain yet.
