What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I also had a paint job problem with the original frame that the supplier here DID NOT want to know about. Finally had to call Cervelo Canada in on the argument. They were awesome and fixed my problem immediately (THANK YOU CERVELO!) - they're guaranteed more patronage from me..........

I'd like to see them bring out a Giro special in pink........hmmmmmmm

i got this baby off ebay a few weeks ago for AU$1700. for you americans, thats around US$1300. its a giant tcr c2 size:M/L the guy who i bought it off ebay from apparently bought it from a shop over the phone without seeing it first, and when he first saw it he realized it was too small and put it on ebay straight away! this sounded too good to be true when i first heard it, but i went to his house checked it out and had a chat, and i could tell he was tellin the truth. its a fantastic bike and i havnt had a problem with it so far besides a puncture, so yeh im pretty happy with my find since these are still selling at around $2500 here. 07 models are about $3000.

ive stepped over a few tcr's before and roughly worked out that the M/L was my size, the top tube distance in the large seemed to great. i rode a trek 1000 size 58 before this which fitted perfectly.

having said this i just want peoples thoughts on the height of my seatpost. is it too high? does it look ridiculous? does this mean the bike is too small? i know these compact frames show a lot more seatpost than the traditional frames.

That is quite a large saddle to bar drop - normal is about upto 100mm. Does your back hurt after long rides???? If it does you may want to look at a new set of forks as the ones on the bike don't appear to have any more room for spacers. Could also flip the stem to give additional height.

the saddle to bar drop is roughly 120mm. i actually dont mind the riding position, although i dont like to spend long in the drops. ive flipped the stem before but prefer it down. all in all the bike seems to fit and ride well, its just that it looks a bit odd i guess.

With compact, head tube height is important for proper fit - current threadless stems offer a bit less adjustability than older threaded ones, unless you're OK with installing a stem that sticks up 45deg at some point to get the right height. If the current bike setup is comfortable for you, especially for rides of 2+hrs, then no problem here. I do hope you have enough seatpost inserted - to extend a bit past the seat tube, toptube intersection.

Yep, the bike is DEFINITELY too small for you! I'll buy it off you and can come to your place to pick it up...

Same bike, same reason for buying it six months ago. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine (which is, um, a lot).
