Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is my first road bike, and it's incredible.

OK, this photo posting is proving to be a waste of time. I tried furnishing a PhotoBucket URL link, as suggested in another post, but the file was deemed too large at 828k.

That is pretty big Dave. Don't you have any software that will enable you to resize it?

Hi,

You still think it's hot without the Zipp 303s?

Sure, go ahead and link it to your site.

I have to say you have snagged the best looking Seven bike i have seen in a long long time... you have a very nice ride there...
If your looking for a great bottle cage , try checking out any of the Arundel water bottle cages. They're top knotch .These cages are easy to use and you'll never see your bottle pop loose out of it's cage. Even if you hit a car at 26+mph the bottle will stay in place . Price maybe high but well worth every penny of it.

Hi People,
I am new to this site but will post a pic of my 'cheapo' road bike soon. It can't come close to any of the bikes i have seen here but will post a pic none the less. Nice site and damn nice bikes....real killers out there.

Cheers,

clichty...thank you for the kind words my friend.

dpr...it's just a Fuji 2006 Altair 2 Frame (7000 series Aluminum, Carbon stays, the usual), Reynolds Fork, House of Kolor color-shift paint, Ultegra groupset, Neuvation M28 Wheels, Karbona Cages & Seat Post, Stock fuji stem and bar...

reason for such upgrades/paint? Crash knocked some serious dings in the paint as well as cracked the stock carbon fork. Stock wheels had a lot of flex. Stock groupset was a mix of Tiagra, 105 & Truvativ.

On a side note... dpr, you got access to Karbona parts/pieces over there in the UK?

Here's mine. It says something about a Record on the brake levers. Is that good?

Thanks! It rides as good as it look, too. I am so not yet worthy of this bike, but it inspires me to ride as often and as far as I have time for. So, it's all good.

AS long as you ride it ,take care of it and keep it from just sitting in some corner tucked away some place ... then you are well worth the bike.

I have never heard of that brand let alone seen it stocked by UK webstores. Sorry pal.

Solid build. Very nice.

I'm a fan of black or white bartape only though, so its distracting, but not bad. To keep with the stealth look I'd personally take the stickers off the Neuvations, but other than those two very minor points, its a very solid build.

Sorry for all the criticism.

Man all you guys have ill bikes, /jealous.

I ride a late 70's (dunno exact year) Fuji S12-S. Good ride, but needs some new parts. Prolly gonna upgrade wheels in the next week or so. I actually JUST replaced the stock seat, and man they sure knew comfort back in the day.

The new to me crit race pig put together as a "budget" bike. Wheels included, it came in under $1500. Spare parts around the garage are key! (though I'm getting rid of the FSA crank and the whole compact setup altogether in the off-season - just no need for it in the flatlands...)

I recently got into road bikes in the last two months...well after I got my 2001 Giant tcr2 in I let my girlfriend ride it, and her being barely shorter than I am, it is now hers after I happened to run across this 2005 Giant TCR Aero 2. Seems pretty rare as I could find very little information on it, but the ride has been great.

2001 Giant TCR2 w/ full 105 components

2005 Giant TCR Aero 2 w/ full 105 components, Fi'zi:k Arione saddle(love it so far), Zero XGR-3 wheels. I can't find any info on the wheelset, if anyone knows anything about them I'd be curious to hear the weight and so on.
